SICO’s Summer Internship Program

SICO welcomed its latest group of summer interns this July. Participants came from top local and international universities to gain hands-on experience across a range of departments, including Investment Banking, Asset Management, Research, Market Making, Custody, Fund Administration, Risk, HR, and IT. We’re proud to support the next generation as they take their first steps into the world of finance.

SICO’s 2024 GHG Emissions

In 2024, SICO observed a 29% increase in total GHG emissions compared to the previous year, primarily driven by a near doubling of employees in its KSA subsidiary and a more comprehensive employee commuting survey, which included 101 participants and extrapolated results to represent the full workforce. This expanded data collection, along with enhanced tracking systems and the inclusion of Scope 3, Category 1 emissions (purchased goods and services), reflects SICO’s commitment to more accurate and transparent emissions reporting. Despite the rise in total emissions, GHG intensity remained nearly unchanged, underscoring the company’s continued focus on sustainable growth. To mitigate its environmental impact, SICO offset its measured emissions by supporting a Gold Standard-certified climate project in Türkiye that converts landfill methane into renewable energy, an initiative that also advances SDGs 6, 7, 8, and 13.

Ramadan Food Drive

Throughout the holy month of Ramadan, the staff at SICO came together to assemble and distribute food boxes to families in need across Bahrain. Overall, 130 boxes were filled with essential food items designed to support those facing hardships. As a socially responsible organization, we are committed to giving back to our communities and supporting them during Ramadan.
