Fadi Al-Qutub

Board Member, SICO

With over 23 years of experience, Fadi brings extensive expertise in investments, asset management, and financial advisory services, particularly in Saudi Arabia. Currently serving as the CIO at Saudi Reinsurance Co., Fadi has held pivotal roles at Alistithmar Capital Co. and Albilad Investment Co. Fadi is a certified financial advisor from the Financial Services Authority in the UK, a Certified Portfolio Manager and a Certified Wealth Manager from the American Academy of Financial Managers. Fadi holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Bahrain in Business Management.

Hassan bin Abdullah AlShuaiby

Independent Member and Chairman, SICO Capital

Hassan AlShuaiby has more than 20 years of experience in the international and local financial sector and a distinguished professional career working with financial organizations such as Capital Market Authority, Supreme Economic Council, World Bank and few private organizations such as Merril Lynch. Hassan served as an investment advisor to H.E. Minister of Housing, Saudi Arabia. He also worked with Saudi Capital Market Authority for more than 10 years until 2019 and held a number of senior positions with the last one being Head, Investment Product Issuance Division. Hassan holds a MS in Project Management from The George Washington University, USA and BS in Finance and International Business from The American University, USA.

Najla Mohamed AlShirawi

Vice Chairman, SICO Capital

Najla Al Shirawi has more than 21 years of investment banking experience. Having been part of SICO since 1997, she was appointed CEO in 2014 following her appointment as deputy CEO in 2013. Najla served with Geneva-based Dar Al-Maal Al-Islami Trust, where she established private banking operations for the Group in the Gulf region. Najla is a Board member at the Bahrain Economic Board (EDB) and a Chairperson on the Board of Directors for two SICO subsidiaries: SICO Funds Services Company (SFS) in Bahrain and SICO Invest in Abu Dhabi, a Vice Chairperson for SICO Capital . She is also an Independent Board Member of Eskan Bank BSC(c), Bahrain and a Board Member of the Future Generation Reserve Council , Bahrain, Deposit Protection Scheme, Bahrain, the Bahrain Associations of Banks, and the Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance. She holds an MBA in Business Administration and Finance from the American College in London and a BA in Civil Engineering from the University of Bahrain.

Fawaz Khalid AlBawardi

Independent Member, SICO Capital

Fawaz Al-Bawardi is the Head of Asset Management at Albawardi Group and the CEO of Bena Steel Industries Co. He has over 14 years of experience in private equity, real estate investments, corporate finance, and the debt market. Al-Bawardi holds a Bachelor's Degree in Finance from the John Molson School of Business and holds various board and committee memberships in both the private and public sectors.

Mohamed Sameer Ghonaim

Independent Member, SICO Capital

Mohammed Ghonaim is the Co-founder and former CEO of D360 bank since inception, launching the first digital bank in Saudi Arabia. Prior to that, he was an Engagement Manager at McKinsey & Company advising organizations on investments, strategy and digital transformations. He was also Saudi country manager and an early employee at Rocket Internet Middle East, launching multiple ventures across the region. Mohammed holds an Engineering degree from the University of Manchester and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Khalid Al Jaseem

Board Member, SICO Capital

Khalid Al-Jassim is the Chairman and the Managing Director of Afkar Vision WLL, which specializes in investments and financial advisory. Prior to that and for more than fifteen years, he was an Executive Director at Arcapita Bank. Al-Jassim started his career as marketing director at NACIC for specialty chemicals, a subsidiary of SABIC, KSA. He has also worked for Arthur Anderson as a senior business consultant. He is currently a board member at Bahrain Islamic Bank and the Chairman of its Audit Committee. He also serves on the board of Durrat Al Bahrain. Al Jassim is also a board member at SICO Bank and chairs the Nomination, Remuneration and Governance Committee. He is also a Board Member at SICO Bank. He holds a BSC in Computer Science & Mathematics from California State University, Long Beach, USA as well as an Executive MBA from Pepperdine University in California, USA.

Ali Marshad

Board Member, SICO Capital

Ali Marshad has over 18 years of experience in asset management, investments, treasury and brokerage. He joined SICO Bank in 2008 as an Analyst in the Investments & Treasury division, he then headed up the newly established Fixed Income Desk in 2012 before being promoted to Head of Fixed Income in 2015. Prior to joining SICO Bank, Marshad worked in the UK as an Analyst with M. Investment Consulting and as a Performance Analyst with UBS Global Asset Management in London. A Chartered Financial Analyst, Marshad holds a BSc (Honors) in Banking, Finance & Management from Lofboro University, UK.

Bassam Abdelaziz Noor

Board Member, SICO Capital

Bassam brings more than 20 years of experience in investment and management regionally and globally. Prior to joining SICO Capital, Bassam was the Chief Investment Officer for Alternative Investments at Derayah Financial and significantly contributed to increasing AUMs for alternative investments. He also held prominent roles in local and regional firms such as Alrajhi United, Arcapita Bank, and Gulf International Bank. Bassam holds a double bachelor’s degree with honors in Finance and Management Information System from University of South Florida and is a CFA charterholder.

Fadhel Makhlooq

Chairman, SICO Invest

With over 41 years of professional experience, Fadhel Makhlooq joined SICO in 2004 as Head of Brokerage before being appointed Head of Investments and Treasury in 2008. He was re-appointed Head of Brokerage in 2010 and then assumed the position of Chief Capital Markets Officer in 2018. Prior to joining SICO, he worked for a number of leading financial institutions, including Investcorp and Chemical Bank (now JPM Morgan Chase). He currently also serves as a Board Member of SICO Invest in UAE and SICO Capital in KSA. Fadhel holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Glamorgan, UK.

Anantha Narayanan

Vice Chairman, SICO Invest

With over 27 years of diversified experience in the areas of operations, audit, and risk in the banking industry, Anantha Narayanan began his career at SICO in 2008. He was Head of Internal Audit before being appointed to his current role of Chief Operating Officer. Prior to joining SICO, he worked for Credit Agricole Corporate & Investment Bank, BBK, Commercial Bank of Oman/Bank Muscat, and PricewaterhouseCoopers. Anantha is a Chartered Accountant and Cost Accountant (India), a Certified Information Systems Auditor and Financial Risk Manager (USA), and an Associate Member of the Institute of Financial Studies (UK). He holds a BSc Honours from the University of Manchester, UK.

Jithesh Gopi

Board Member, SICO Invest

Jithesh Gopi has over 25 years of experience in investment management, research, and analytics. Since 2013, he has worked with Al Rajhi Capital in Riyadh as Head of Research, Head of Asset Management, Director of Research and Financial Institutions, and Director of Corporate Development and Proprietary Investments. In 2006, he joined SICO as Senior Analyst and as Head of Research, covering over 50 companies in major sectors, and he is currently a Board Member at SICO Capital, KSA. Jithesh holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the College of Engineering, Trivandrum, India, and a Master of Business Administration from the Asian Institute of Management in Manila, Philippines. He is also a CFA charterholder, and he has completed the Asian International Executive Program at INSEAD Singapore.

Wissam Haddad

Board Member, SICO Invest

Wissam Haddad has 22 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, and corporate finance. Throughout his ten years at SICO, Wissam has brought significant value to both the team and clients in his role as Head of Investment Banking. Prior to joining SICO in 2014, he was a Director with Gate Capital in Dubai and had previously held senior positions with UAE-based Najd Investments, Unicorn Capital, Emirates NBD’s NBD Sana Capital, Saudi National Commercial Bank’s NCB Capital, and Eastgate Capital, among others. Wissam holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Concordia University, Canada.

Salman Al Sairafi

Board Member, SICO Invest

With more than 21 years of experience in financial services and technology, Salman Al Sairafi joined SICO in 2020 as the Head of Global Markets and was appointed as the Group Head of Transformation in 2024. Prior to joining SICO, he held the role of Chief Investment Officer and Board Member at Capital Growth Management in Bahrain and was a Senior Investment Advisor at United Consulting Group in KSA. Prior to that, he headed the Fixed Income and Money Markets desk at NCB Capital in KSA. Salman has also held various other positions in Bahrain and the UK in the fields of consulting and R&D. Salman is Chairman of the Board at Dar Al Ma’rifa in Bahrain and is both a Chartered Financial Analyst and a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst. A former Chevening Scholar, Salman holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Information Systems Engineering and a Master of Science in Advanced Computing from Imperial College London.

Ahmed Almudawi

Head of Global Markets, SICO

Ahmed Almudawi has over 13 years of experience in the fixed income and public equity arenas in both emerging and developed markets. Joining SICO in 2015, Ahmed has been the Global Markets primary On-Desk Trader since 2020. He caters to sell-side clients; namely institutional investors and ultra/high net worth individuals. In 2024, he assumed the position of Head of Global Markets. Joining SICO Funds Services (SFS) in 2015 as a Senior Fund Administrator, Ahmed’s vast experience in the field has developed through various exposures within the bank. In 2017, Ahmed transitioned from SICO Funds Services to SICO as Senior Fixed Income Trader within the brokerage team. He is a graduate from Exeter University with Bachelor of Arts in Accounting and Finance. Ahmed is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA ®) as well as a Chartered Accountant (ACCA ®).

Salman Al Sairafi
